About the Moderators

Attorney Aliya Astaphan

Aliya Astaphan‘s practice is concentrated in commercial litigation, including matters involving breach-of-contract, business torts (e.g., fraud and tortious interference), class action defense, and trademark infringement. Aliya also assists clients in disputes involving real property, church property, and franchises.


David Connelly

David Connelly is an attorney and Certified Public Accountant with more than 30 years of collective financial investigation, audit and legal experience. For the past 20 years, he has specialized in complex forensic financial investigations and damages analysis, and his combined accounting and legal expertise provides him with a cohesive perspective of financial litigation issues, and a particular insight into effective forensic investigation methodologies and contract accounting issues.

David has substantial experience in all phases of litigation, serving as a testifying expert in federal and state court, an internal consultant for international, regional and local law firms on various financial litigation issues involving discovery, data analysis, substantiation and/or critique of financial opinions, and damages analysis, and as a court appointed accounting referee/neutral.

David’s litigation engagements have ranged in size from global investigations and substantial federal litigation matters to local individual disputes, and covered a wide range of financial disputes, including matters involving fraud, misappropriation, breach of contract and fiduciary duty, corporate and partnership disputes, intellectual property, accountings pursuant to contract, earn-out and other post-acquisition provisions, antitrust, bankruptcy, international trade, contingent participation interests in film and television, royalties, and other business matters.

Attorney Keith Gregory
Keith Gregory of Snell & Wilmer With over 35 years of experience, Keith, who serves as co-chair of the commercial litigation group in California, regularly handles cases in the areas of general business, real estate, and partnership disputes. Keith also serves as an outside ethics compliance officer for companies, and has considerable background in litigating government debarment proceedings, licensing agreements, trade secret matters and Uniform Commercial Code issues, especially for distributors and manufacturers within the electronic components, computer hardware and semi-conductor industries.
