Topic: Celebrating Our Independence
Description: As we are in the midst of the World Cup and our nation's pride, we are preparing for big celebrations all around. In fact, July 4, 2026 marks America's Semiquincentennial - the 250th anniversary of our nation's independence! It took a lot for the country to say we'd finally had enough with those Brits, and even more to make the separation officially happen. Was it difficult? Of course! Was it worth it?? Well, it's seemed to work out for the last 250 years! But, as we know change is hard. So, for our meeting, we are celebrating independence in all its avenues, and especially as it relates to our law practices. If you used to work for a firm and now work for yourself, what was it that pushed you to fight for your independence and go off on your own? If you have a law partner, what helped you decide that such person was the right fit for you to create something bigger and better in moving forward? How do you define independence as it relates to your professional career? Is it getting to choose which clients you take on (or more so which clients you turn down)? Is it making your own schedule? What is your own personal "Liberty Bell"? Thank you to our host, David Bobrosky of Lewitt Hackman
