This month, we will have a relatively easy hike. Marvin Braude Mulholland Gateway Park is a 1,500-acre park in the Santa Monica Mountains, with its trailhead at the southern terminus of Reseda Boulevard in Tarzana, Los Angeles, California. The park was named for former Los Angeles City Councilman Marvin Braude, who for more than 30 years led the effort to preserve the Santa Monica Mountains. We are going to hike one of the trails that starts from this park.

Parking location: There is plenty of street parking available. Parking is $5 at the top of Reseda Boulevard. There is also a certain part where there is a stop sign. Once you pass that, it becomes paid parking. If you just park before that, it’s free. But, do be careful as there’s a camera at the stop sign. Make sure you stop, don’t stop and roll or else, $ 100.00 ticket.
Everyone who plans to attend the hike must complete a release form that will be emailed to all who RSVP. Hike will be limited to 10 attendees. Two groups of 5 will leave at staggered times. All hikers must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
