Jack Schaedel has spent more than two decades advising California and nationwide employers in matters related to labor and employment law, and representing them in related litigation.

Jack has advised and represented clients ranging from small start-up companies to large multinational corporations with 100,000+ employees in a variety of industries including manufacturing, professional services, and hospitality. He has obtained favorable verdicts on behalf of these clients in high-stakes employment law matters involving wage/hour violations, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, and discrimination.

While Jack is a seasoned litigator, a central focus of his practice is developing his clients’ ability to prevent, address and resolve issues before they advance to litigation. He routinely guides clients through the intricacies of state and federal statutes related to discrimination, harassment, wage and hour regulations, and family and medical leave. Jack also assists employers in the development of sound employment practices and comprehensive personnel handbooks, and advises his clients on an ongoing basis on the myriad of workplace issues that arise on a given day.

Jack, a sought-after speaker, provides training to clients and industry groups, including California’s mandatory anti-harassment training, as well as wage and hour compliance, issues presented by the gig economy, and more.

Jack’s experience in employment litigation and counsel complements a solid background in labor relations, having represented companies in campaigns and elections, collective bargaining, unfair labor practice arbitrations, and day-to-day collective bargaining agreement administration.

Prior to joining FordHarrison, Jack was a partner at a Southern California boutique law firm which concentrated its practice in the automotive industry. Prior to that post, Jack spent several years operating his own Southern California based law firm which later became part of one of the largest minority owned law firms in the United States.
